You and your kids deserve a break! With our holiday program, your kids will be able to participate in a plethora of fun activities that will also allow them to explore and learn a lot of things. This program is designed for kids whose age ranges from 1.5-5 y/o.

Water Play, Apa sih Manfaatnya?

“Waduh! Besok di kelas Adik ada jadwal water play, bisa berantakan deh rumah”. Mungkin untuk sebagian orang tua, akan terlintas bayangan rumah berantakan dengan air berceceran di lantai ketika tahu bahwa salah satu kegiatan belajar ananda esok hari adalah bermain air. Kalau dulu sebelum pandemi semua aktivitas dilakukan di sekolah, Bunda tentunya akan terbebas dari pikiran rumah yang berantakan atau becek setelah main air. Belum lagi banyak juga peralatan yang harus disiapkan untuk kegiatan ini. Tapi tahukah Bunda, bahwa water play atau permainan air memiliki banyak manfaat untuk tumbuh kembang si Kecil?

Kegiatan water play yang melibatkan kegiatan fisik seperti mengangkat, menuang, memercikkan air, dan memeras ternyata dapat menstimulus perkembangan motorik kasar dan halus anak. Tidak hanya itu Bunda, ternyata water play juga memiliki serangkaian manfaat untuk menstimulus perkembangan kognitif anak.

Berikut beberapa manfaat dari kegiatan water play:

1. Sebagai awal mula pengenalan konsep matematika

Percayakah Bunda bahwa saat si Kecil bermain air, mereka sedang belajar mengenali konsep dasar matematika? Saat anak mengisi dan mengosongkan berbagai jenis ukuran wadah dengan air, mereka belajar tentang ukuran kapasitas. Mereka juga mempelajari konsep perbandingan seperti lebih banyak, lebih sedikit , terisi penuh, atau kosong.

2. Pengenalan konsep sains

Lewat kegiatan water play anak menemukan berbagai fakta ilmiah sederhana dari air, seperti: air membuat pasir menjadi lebih berat, bentuk air mengikuti bentuk tempatnya, atau benda bisa mengapung, melayang, atau tenggelam di dalam air, dan masih banyak lagi.

3. Pengenalan bahasa dan kosakata

Saat melakukan kegiatan water play, anak akan mengembangkan keterampilan berbahasa terutama dengan memperkaya kosakata yang dimiliki. Mereka akan memiliki kesempatan untuk mengeksplorasi dan mendeskripsikan apa yang mereka temukan saat melakukan water play dengan berbagai peralatan dan mainan yang digunakan.

4. Meningkatkan keterampilan sosial

Pengembangan keterampilan sosial didapat saat anak mendapat kesempatan untuk berdiskusi, berbagi, dan bekerjasama dengan guru, teman-teman, atau saudara saat bermain air.

Title                : Baa Baa Black Sheep
Objective       : Children explore the sound of a simple rhythm instrument and sing along to the beat

The children feel the beat by clapping their hands. They clap their hands to the rhythm while following the beat of the musical instruments in the video. This activity enhances the children’s curiosity regarding the way they can feel the beat towards other musical instruments. The children looked very excited when recording themselves making the beat with their own musical instruments. So much so that they asked to do more!

Positive discipline is a technique to discipline your children without threatening or giving punishment. It involves effective communication between both parents & children.

Through positive discipline, children are taught to understand the consequences of their behaviour/attitude. Moreover, positive discipline teaches children to be responsible and respect those they interact with within the home and community.

Positive discipline aims to raise children’s attitude awareness and dicipline without giving a reward, threat, or even punishment.

Try these positive disciple tips at home:

1. Focus on the child’s good attitude/behavior. Believe there is no such thing as a “Bad Kid.”
2. Show them the importance of doing / not doing certain things such as chores, schoolwork, helping around the house.
3. If you talk to them about the effects of their actions, (positive or negative), you can help them to develop their thinking and better understand their emotion
4. Do not get angry and communicate with love and care. Give understanding and explain your side. It is not reward or punishment but makes them feel involved in the process.
5. Make time to connect with your children. Having quality time with them gives you an opportunity to share their interests and for them to share yours. (You will be surprised at what you learn and how much you have in common)

Positive discipline helps children and adults understand  that conflict is an opportunity to learn something. If two children are facing a problem, at school or at home, we encourage them to implement problem solving while considering what they learned from positive discipline. He/She will therefore learn to understand each others feelings and take action to resolve the conflict.

These Problem-Solving steps does magic in our classrooms which parents can also apply at home.

1. Approach calmly, stopping any hurtful actions.

• Place yourself on the child’s level.
• Use calm voice and gentle touch.
• Remain neutral rather than take sides.

2. Acknowledge children’s feelings.

• “You look really upset.”
• Let the children know you need to hold any object in question.

3. Gather information.

• “What’s the problem.”

4. Restate the problem.

• “So, the problem is…”

5. Ask ideas for solution and choose one together.

• “What can we do to solve the problem.”
• Encourage children to think of a solution.

6. Be prepared to give follow-up support.

• “You solved the problem!”
• Stay near the children.
